This summer, the is offering a series of in-person courses through the Rocky Mountain Methodology Academy. The Rocky Mountain Methodology Academy can help graduate students and seasoned researchers jump ahead and modernize their research methodology training. The content most students receive as a part of their graduate studies is the foundation for research practice. With increasing data analysis and design advances, researchers need to be continuous learners.“The content offered by CCRAM can help you to work smarter,” says Dr. Andrew Hayes, Distinguished Research Professor and Director of CCRAM. “In just two days, you can acquire skills to enhance your research analysis and design. These skills can save you time while gathering and analyzing data — and may also lessen the time your papers spend reviewing and revising.”Graduate students and postdoctoral scholars anywhere in the world are eligible for a 10 per cent discount when enrolling in any CCRAM course, including the Rocky Mountain Methodology Academy sessions.#MyHaskayne #dataanalysis #researchanalysis #businesseducation #businessschool #yyc

It happened quickly before I could even realize it.I got a scholarship 4 months ago by the Dutch GovernmentWhere I was able to choose a course and then if you are selectedThe government will pay the complete course fee, and all you have to do isTo get resultsTo studyAnd amidst all the accidents andAll the tough situationsI was focused onmy studiesAnd finally, it's theresult time. And like I always say:I will study only if I am able to pay my fees.I prefer scholarships instead of having my parents or partner pay for my studies.Data Visualisation & Storytelling digital certificate/badge issued by Growth Tribe via Sertifier!#sertifier #digitalbadge #digitalcertificate #digitalcredentials #datavisualization #storytelling

"The times ahead will be radically different from those that we've experienced in our lifetime, though similar to many times before. How do I know that? Because they always have been. Over roughly 50 years of my global macroeconomic investing, I've learned the hard way that the most important events that surprised me, did so because they never happened in my lifetime." -- Ray DalioHaving been a print media fan all my life, it never occurred to me that I would witness the fall of that industry in my lifetime. Thus, I also saw that perhaps my old skill is hardly relevant any longer. Luckily (speaking like a true Javanese), I never let anything stop me from learning, not even my age (some people might think, I'm "over the hill" and I reserve my right to disagree). Then I found Pacmann [https://pacmann.io/] through a friend's recommendation. It is the right data school no matter what your background; with excellent teachers and facilitators that are more than capable to guide you on your learning process. The world of data has been a mystery to me, though I've always known it's the key to see the pattern of the world we live in, and I'm kind of a nut about patterns. Even when I found out later that these useful patterns we found by analyzing the data were only approximations at best, but the operating word is 'useful', we can always use it to gain understanding or even predict what will come our way.So today I found myself in the middle of my learning period in Pacmann. It hasn't always been easy, especially when I'm fully aware that I'm enrolling this with fellow learners who are mostly in their 20s (or as we old people call them "digital natives"). But it has its highlights. I just finished a term of Statistics for Business subject and my project is chosen to be one of those that are showcased in the list of projects as reference, and even though I feel it's not good enough (I am my own harshest critic), I'm quite proud of myself. So if you're curious, please do watch the video presentation of my project [https://lnkd.in/gkmGcgQh]. If you prefer to read, you can visit my Medium page [https://lnkd.in/ggFgMZKc].Wish me luck on my learning (work!) journey and thank you for reading!

Dear LinkedIn Network, I am thrilled to share a significant milestone in my professional journey:I have successfully completed and earned my certification in Data Analysis for Management from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)! 🎓This program has been an incredible learning experience, equipping me with the skills and knowledge needed to harness the power of data in decision-making. In today's data-driven world, the ability to extract meaningful insights and make informed decisions is more critical than ever, and I am excited to bring these new skills into a professional environment. That said, I would like to share some of the information that I have learned and gathered from this program: ~ Decision-making starts with formulating the problem. In order to do this, one must simply ask questions and be curious enough to gather any and all information required.~ An effective data-driven model simplifies complex real-world scenarios while preserving their critical components. Models come in various forms and dimensions. In this course, we used Tableau to to build models and make predictions, given a data set. ~ Data that has been reduced using descriptive statistics, combined with constructed graphical representations of data, may aid you to gain insight into some immediately visible characteristics of a dataset. By understanding and applying the principles of data reduction, you pave the way for more complex analysis to take place. You may use Tableau or Power BI for this. ~ To gain a comprehensive understanding of opinion-based predictions, it's essential to scrutinize the finer details within a dataset. Paying attention to factors like sample sizes and margins of error when interpreting polling outcomes empowers you to gauge the predictive accuracy of a poll. This holistic approach enables you to make well-informed decisions grounded in the entirety of available information, rather than being influenced solely by headlines. By calculating confidence intervals, you can ascertain, with a specified level of confidence, the possible range within which a true population characteristic lies.~ Hypothesis testing determines if a specific claim or assumption about a population is statistically supported by examining sample data. It simplifies decision-making into a binary process where only two hypotheses are considered: a null hypothesis and an alternative hypothesis. One of these hypotheses is true, while the other is false.~ Time-series data records variable changes over time. While time is typically the x-variable, the y-variable may not always depend on time alone, considering influences like seasonality or external factors. Regression analysis describes historical behavior, while this module focuses on using that knowledge for future predictions, exploring trends and seasonality.

Open access training alert! My friends at the Market Research Society have invited me back to run my popular course, “How To Be Insightful” at the beginning of July.Almost all organisations in the modern knowledge economy have analytical thinking cultures, rewarding hard work, presenteeism, and the application of analytical skills to crack analytical problems. These are important qualities, but they’re by no means the only game in town. And the challenge is that insight – the superpower that drives innovation – comes about through a completely different mode of thought: insightful thinking. If you’re interested in learning how to turn data into insight more reliably and predictably … if you’d like to know how to join old and old together to make something new … if you’re keen to harness the power of your subconscious to crack insight problems, well, this is very definitely the course for you. Click on the link below to secure your place on this 6 July course. #insight #training #usingdatasmarter
