In 2024, the event will be known as the Berlin Ladies Open (Ecotrans Ladies Open due to sponsorship) This event was founded in 1896-2008; 2021-present. It will be the 4th edition this year as a WTA500 category.
The event will be held on the Outdoor grass court of Rot-Weiss Tennis Club, Berlin Germany. The event consists of 32 singles draws and 16 doubles draw. It will start on 17 June and end on 23 June 2024.

WTA German Open History and Winners
The German Open (currently known as the Berlin Ladies Open) is a WTA Tour-affiliated professional tennis tournament for women. It was originally held in Hamburg, Germany, and played on outdoor clay courts from 1888 to 1989 and from 1991 to 2008, after which it was moved to Berlin.
The first edition was contested by 19 players, who were divided into three groups. The winners of the three groups met in a final to determine the champion. In 1991, the event was played on grass courts, and from 1988 to 1992 it was played on clay courts. The event has been classified as a Tier I tournament since 1988.
In 2019, it was announced that the event would return in 2020. However, the event was canceled in April 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and it would be due to return in 2021. The new event is classified as a Premier-level tournament and serves as a warm-up event for the Wimbledon Open (The Championships), having switched its surface from clay to grass.
